It’s a strange world – Yesterday (July 4th) I was filmed and interviewed for a travel/documentary series by Czech TV. The film crew were on the Island making a series about the way of life here and asked to visit a working artist – so were sent to me. It is due to be shown (in the Czech Republic) in September. They are going to send me a link whe it is available.

BBC WILDLIFE ARTIST OF THE YEAR 2010 – CATEGORY WINNER

Jeremy’s painting – ‘Islands’ – Otter has won the ‘British Mammals’ category in the final judging of the competition.

Details of all the category winners and the overall winner will be announced in the BBC Wildlife Magazine in the August, when the winning paintings will also be exhibited at an awards ceremony at Marwell House in Hampshire.

Jeremy has had three paintings selected for the final judging in the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year 2010, organised by the BBC Wildlife magazine. Only 70 paintings were selected for the final viewing which takes place at the end of May. The paintings are jp724 ‘Islands’, jp742′Old Wall – wren’ and jp748 ‘Old Ice – Black Browed Albatross.

Two of Jeremy’s paintings have been selected for the DSWF wildlife artist of the year 2010 exhibition and final judging which takes place at the Mall Galleries in London on 24th – 29th May. This is the third year that Jeremy has had paintings selected for this important art and conservation prize/exhibition

New Stamp Series

A new set of postage stamps has been produced by the Isle of Man Post Office depicting 6 of Jeremy’s paintings.

The series of 6 stamps -’Countryfile’ – was released on September 1st.

A series of mounted prints including the stamps is now available as well as the mini sheet and First Day Cover.

Wildlife Artist of the Year 2009

Jeremy Paul has had paintings selected for final judging in two major wildlife art competitions – both to select their Wildlife artist of the year 2009

A painting of a Wandering Albatross(jp680) is in the exhibition of the selected finalists for the David Shepherd Conservation Foundation, taking place at the Mall Galleries in London on June 1st- 6th see http://www.wildlifeartistoftheyear.org/

Jeremy has had three paintings selected for final judging of the BBC wildlife artist of the year organised by the BBC wildlife magazine. Final judging takes place at the end of June. A painting of an oystercatcher on Castletown beach (jp697) is in the category ‘wildlife in its environment’ and paintings of a polar bear(jp652) and one of gentoo penguins(jp682) are in the ‘frozen planet’ category. Over 700 paintings were submitted and around 10 have been chosen for each category – of these each catagory has its own winner and then an overall winner will be chosen. see http://www.bbcwildlifemagazine.com/artist2009.asp

Jeremy is due to have his next exhibition on the Island in October at the Sayle Gallery in Douglas (sponsored by Coutts)
