It has always been one of my secret ambitions (very sad one I know) to see one of my paintings or prints on a wall in the background of some TV programme. I can now cross this one off. I was recently watching a BBC programme about John Constable (The secret lives of Artists) when they visited Spring Grove House near Bewdley- the home of Constable’s future wife’s family- and there in the hall was my painting of a white tiger – clearly viewed as the camera panned round. The painting was commissioned by the West Midland Safari Park who now occupy the grounds and house. This programme was made in 2003 and sadly the house and painting were destroyed in a major fire in 2005 – so it was good to see the original again (a print is still available JP16).
